“Remain Vigilante, Aphroridae”

Queen Enyo had taken note of recent surges in Mana levels being directed at the Abyssal Hive, but only ordered a small division of The Queen’s Own to set about establishing additional methods of harvesting the energy of the gods. For the most part, She, Her Generals, and Her soldiers were focused on the conquest of the entire Gaian Ocean. The Collective’s goal was simple: establish a garrison in Gaia and prepare to launch the second wave of The Divine War, again on the offensive.

“Aphroridae, you are aware of the weight my favor has, correct?” asked the Queen of the jix`Su’s most talented assassin.

“Yes, my Queen.”

“And then without question, you are aware that makes you quite the target within the Hive. I wouldn’t be surprised if any one of the Generals, perhaps all of them, even, is planning your demise right now.”

Aphroridae went to speak, but was quickly cut off by the continuing monologue.

“Your death would be insignificant to the grand history of our Hive, and even less than a speck of memory to our Universe. To me though, and to the young ones who look up to you, it would be a devastating set back in this war we find ourselves fighting.”

The Assassin’s eyes drifted from attention at his Queen to his surroundings, the throne room, carefully checking for any possible attempts on his life.

The Queen finished by saying, “Remain vigilante, Aphroridae, or you’ll lose something even more dear than my favor. That is all.”
