Rise & Ruin History

Chapter 3: Fated Existence

As the millennia passed, The Rulers observed their creations with great interest. The Ralaks, Keldei and jix'Su were positioned to ensure limited interaction until the fated moment. During this time of waiting, the Rulers' patience was tried; impatience mitigated only through thoughts of victory and power to come. Each of The Rulers also continued to create new species, trinkets of little consequence, to pass the time. But they were quickly tossed aside and forgotten as the Rulers watched the Ralaks, Keldei, and jix'Su evolve toward their destined forms.

As the Divine War approached, Varken appeared the obvious favorite. The Ralaks had enjoyed a long and prosperous reign. Each border they crossed suffered the same, unenviable fate as the last. All that was left was that final intervention of fate and the Divine War would be set in motion. A truer test of a God's worth did not exist.

Judging the moment at hand at last, the brothers gathered again at the Temple of Trias. Seated upon their thrones around the Table of Apotheosis, they greeted each other with the mixture of friendship and enmity known only to brothers. In turn, Varken, Snykus, and Adolces stood, placed their hands upon the Altar of Nihilo, and swore to respect the outcome of the contest. As Adolces, the last to give his oath, returned to his throne an image of Gaia took shape in the air above the Table. The Rulers settled in to watch and await the results of their War so long in the making.
