A Development Update (or The Long & Twisted Path of Indie Publishing)

[Ed. Note. This is a long post, but wanted to bring you all up-to-speed.]

It's been a long while since we went back into closed development. Much longer than we planned. Thought we would provide everyone with an update about where we are and what we're doing.

Rise & Ruin Returns to Closed Development After a Successful Open Beta

Summary: Rise & Ruin is returning to closed development to build out the gameplay experience for past, present, and future players for continued fun and fury. Rise & Ruin will remain up in its current state, 24/7. We simply want to let you, our community, and any potential future community members know that we are ending this round of Open Beta, and are turning our complete attention to finishing development of key areas of Rise & Ruin.

Rise & Ruin at GDC 2010!

Over the past three days, I've been keeping busy giving a daily presentation on the creation of Rise & Ruin. The talks at GDC 2010 have focused around how our team uses 3DVia's Virtools to create the game we all know and love. I met a lot of great people who work for 3DVia, and had a great time talking about R&R to anyone and everyone that would listen.

You can check out what else has been going on at 3DVia's booth, as well as check in on each of my presentations of the conference on their blog.

You can also check out some pictures I shot of the Expo and other happenings on Rise & Ruin's Flickr page.

Enjoy!
