Who Is Septu? – Part I

There is an interesting passage in Chapter 6, Hallowed Decree, about a jix’Su warrior named Septu:

"As the battle between Ralak and Keldei raged on… “The jix’Su kept a watchful eye on the melee before them, waiting for the moment Queen Enyo had predicted would arise. In an earlier battle, an overambitious jix’Su, Septu, had prematurely launched an advance in a pathetic attempt to distinguish himself from the others. This hardly impressed Queen Enyo and Septu had been banished. Today, however, was an entirely different matter. A collective bond filled the jix’Su’s ranks and the battle lines were held until the exact order was given.”

It’s the only passage in the entire R&R history that mentions Septu. It begs the question, who is this mysterious character? Rene, our Creative Director, was thinking about that and decided to take a shot at answering that question. So, here is Part I of Rene’s take on Septu:

“Septu had been banished from The Hive, for his impulsive and repugnant disregard of Aphroridae’s plan of attack when the Ralak and Keldei first clashed on Gaia. Aphroridae, Queen Enyo’s “Stealth Assassin” and first in command of strategic operations, had determined that a cautious and measured approach to the Gaia conflict would ensure absolute, swift victory. True to his jix’Su nature, he devised a strategy that hinged on patience and restraint, followed by a carefully precise massacre of the Ralaks and Keldei at their exhausted weakest. Septu disagreed.”
