Hi. My name is Mordrid, as you can see from my post. I am new here and will be staying with this game, as I find this game is way better than the one I come from, which was Chaotic. I was/am ranked 17th out of about 2 million accounts online. I know I haven't been here long, but I have played strategy games for about 30 years and I tend to be very good at them.
I have played about 20 games so far, and have noticed some things about the game.
1) I see people skipping thier attack turns.
2) I see people skipping thier defense turns.
3) I see people not using modifiers on thier turns.
These are some things I suggest.
1) To win this game, you dont need more than 13 attack cards in your deck. That is if you are going up against someone who is the similar level as you.
a) Add up your total mana points in your deck, including combat, modifiers and defense cards, and subtract 3 from it, and that is how many 0 mana point combat cards you should have in it. So lets say I have
1-3 point
2-2 point
3-1 point
That would add up to 10 built points, minus the 3, which would give you 7. 7 is how many 0 mana point cards you would need.
The 3 represents the number of mana points you start with at the begginning of the game.
b) What this does is, it allows you to always have a combat card in your hand that you can play, never ending up with 3, 2 point cards in you hand and no points to play them.
2) When selecting your cards for your deck, pay attention to thier damage potential and the skill type. Select the cards that have the most damage potential for its mana cost, before selecting a weaker one with the same mana cost.
a) For example:
you have
a 2351 one mana cost combat card
and a 2053 one mana cost combat card
select the 2351 card.
b) Keep in mind what skills you have increased with your points. Lets say you have increased hand to hand and not handheld and you have two cards with the same damage ability, but one is hand to hand and one is handheld. You would chose the hand to hand, because that is what is going to end up doing the most damage.
3) Most games are only going to last 10 rounds, so I wouldnt put more than 10 defense and 10 modifiers in your deck.
This will help to prevent the slim chance of having a full hand of nothing but defense and modifiers.
4) With this deck building strategy, you should never have to throw off cards, as every full turn, you are pulling three new cards and have an even chance of pulling any one of the types of cards.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Alternate deck building strategy, which I think may be better.
1) As stated before, you dont need more than 13 attacks to win the game.
a) add 3 to that, which is the 3 manapoints you start off with and you get 16. This represents the number of build points you have to work with in your deck. Use the 16 points however you want, and count the combat cards you used to make that deck. Now subtract that from 13, and that is how many 0 build point combat cards you should have in your deck.
so i spent
2 points on defence cards
2 points on modifiers cards
and 12 points on 7 combat cards.
if you take the 13 cards you need in the deck and subtract the 7 combat cards you already have in it, you get 6. 6 is now many 0 build point combat cards you would need in your deck.
b) keep in mind you should still have at least 10 modifiers and 10 defense cards.
Great tips

Ha ha, you can exactly "reap" people when there is no one around to do so with... I know my job has definitely become a lot harder since we left open beta!
